Statement from Michigan AFL-CIO President Karla Swift on Terri Lynn Land’s So-called Plan for Michigan Manufacturing
“Michiganders cannot trust Terri Lynn Land because she supports an anti-middle class agenda that would hurt our workers, undercut Michigan manufacturing, and send good paying jobs overseas. Here’s the truth – Land’s plan would gut worker training programs just to give new tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas. If Land had her way, our auto industry would have failed, and if she is elected to the U.S. Senate, she will support policies that make it tougher for our workers and our manufacturers to compete. Land’s anti-middle class agenda may be right for the out of state billionaires boosting her campaign, but it would hurt working families here in Michigan.”
