Statement from Michigan AFL-CIO President Ron Bieber on Governor Whitmer extending and revising the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order into May:
“Since the beginning of this awful outbreak reaching Michigan, Governor Whitmer has made public safety and protecting the citizens of Michigan her top priority. The executive actions she has taken to date have saved countless lives.
“Through her continued outstanding leadership today, taking timely, measured steps to allow low risk workers to return to work safely in coordination and alignment with other Midwest governors, Gov. Whitmer has continued to protect the lives of the people of Michigan. The working people of Michigan fully support and deeply appreciate her efforts to keep us healthy and safe, and look forward to working with her to returning our state to prosperity in a safe manner at the appropriate time.”
