Michigan AFL-CIO President Ron Bieber released the following statement regarding Gretchen Whitmer’s victory in the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary Election:
“Gretchen Whitmer has always stood up to fight for the freedoms of working people. She has the experience it’s going to take to fix the roads, improve our schools and get government working for everyone. Working people will enthusiastically unite behind Whitmer to deliver a solid victory in November. Gretchen will get things done. We can’t risk letting Bill Schuette win the governor’s office. His record as an opportunist who puts corporate greed over the rights of working families shows he will be a disaster for Michigan.”
